I started in model railroading when my kids were young. But had to give it up till they moved out, no room LOL. So I went back at in Alabama. "1st Pic" My dad and I made some frames for a two deck system. Pic 3 I built a helix to go from top to bottom levels. Pic 2 I went and added a third hidden layer under the whole layout, it would change the trains direction. It was a two track main line so the helix pic 3 was a two track one up one down. I finished most of the layout before I retired.
When we moved to Florida I started new one with one level "pic 4" but wasn't happy. Pic 4 shows New layout as it is today and the some of the wiring for the switches. Picture "4" Is a pic of the top layout just for 1 main line. The next picture "5" is me working on the lower section figuring out the logic for the arduino to make the switches work remotely. So I built low and behold another helix. I can run multipel trains now so it working out pretty good. Look I have a 10'x12' shed that I'm building this thing in. I just work on the railroad October through March or April, Save on air conditioning. Check back promise more to come. A new gallery hopefully.
