Originally from Michigan. My elmer KK8K gave me my novice test and I became KA8? in 1982. Took my technicians same year became N8GAI. Bought a pair of used Drakes R-4c,T-4XC. A 40ft tower with A3S Cushcraft 3-element beam, two 12 element 2meter yagi's worked alot of packet and ssb. Had a packet BBS for a couple of years. Worked 10 and 2 meter ssb for a few years. Moved to Alabama "GO Tide" in 1986. Changed call to N4WHZ 2013. Put tower up and worked a little bit but had to drop out dew to work. Retired in 2018 and moved to Florida. Put up a 5-BTV 80-10 ant dew to HOA where we live. Picked up Vanity call K4AOK in 9/2018. Still have the Drakes, Yaesu FT-891, Yaesu ft-707, with a Signalink for digitial. Just Installed a ALS-600 for HF, "can have some fun now!" Update May 20th/2023 new radio Yaesu FTDX-10 and 20 meter Bazooka, 80 meter dipole antenna. Lost ft-891 dew to lightning. Still looking foward to upgrading to Extra Class one day. Also in Michigan I was involved in ARES and Races.
